This scholarship honors the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, a unit of the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) deployed during WWII to sort and route unprocessed mail for troops on the front lines.

Eligibility

Applicants must be women who meet one of the following criteria:

  • Currently serving or a veteran of any U.S. Army component.
  • A descendant of an Army woman who served honorably.

Strict eligibility requirements apply, and valid proof of Army service (e.g., DD214 discharge papers, commander’s letter) must be submitted.

Undergraduate AWF Legacy Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in or accepted by an accredited college or university.
  • Must have completed at least 30 credit hours before the application deadline.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0.

Graduate AWF Legacy Scholarship

  • Must hold an undergraduate degree with a 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be enrolled in or accepted to a Master’s or Doctoral program.
