Paid summer internship followed by one year $7,500 scholarship.
These awards are preceded by a PAID summer internship at a North American steel-producing or steel-related company.
Premier Intern Scholarship – The top-scoring applicant of all received will be awarded the Premier Scholarship, a one-year scholarship of US $12,000 with a paid summer internship (summer preceding the scholarship).
Applicant must commit to a paid summer internship at a North American steel-related company and must be a citizen of the United States, Canada, or Mexico. Relocation may be necessary for the internship.
Qualifying Criteria for Scholarships
Students majoring in:
- engineering
- engineering technology
- computer science
- data science
- safety or industrial hygiene programs
Applications will be accepted from university freshmen, sophomore and junior applicants, and university seniors planning to attend graduate school.
Applicant must be enrolled full-time in a four-year undergraduate (minimum of 12 credits) or graduate program (minimum of 8 credits) at an accredited North American university.
For the college-bound children, grandchildren, spouses, and nieces/nephews of member steelworkers in good standing. It’s intended to fund full-time college education at accredited 2-year or 4-year schools in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska.
