The Chickasaw Nation Higher Education Grant may be awarded to undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher each semester.  This grant is for the Fall time period.

Addition Chickasaw Nation scholarships and grants include: 

General Scholarship

This scholarship is for Chickasaw students who enroll in at least three credit hours per term and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Eligibility is based on enrollment status, classification, and semester GPA.

 

Governor’s, Lt. Governor’s, and Legislator’s Scholarship

Available to graduating high school seniors (one-time award). Students with a GPA of 3.85 or higher, or those who are valedictorian or salutatorian, qualify. The high school transcript is due by Sept. 15.

Inter-Tribal Council of the 5 Civilized Tribes Johnson-O’Malley Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to one male and one female graduating high school senior (one-time award). Applicants must attend a school with a Johnson-O’Malley program within the Chickasaw Nation and submit a recommendation letter and a 500-word essay by Sept. 15.

Fee Assistance Grant

Chickasaw students taking three or more credit hours per term and maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA each semester may qualify for the fee assistance grant.

There are 3 different application periods for all scholarships/grants:

  • Dec 1 - Feb 15 (Spring)
  • May 1 - Jul 1 (Summer)
  • Jul 1 - Sep 15 (Fall)

Textbook Grant

Chickasaw students in higher education may be eligible for textbook funding with a minimum 2.0 GPA.

  • Students enrolled in 3-11 credit hours may receive up to $250 per term.
  • Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours may receive up to $500 per term.
  • Funds are distributed via a textbook Visa card, valid only for textbook purchases. Reimbursement checks will be issued upon submission of receipts.

Reimbursement deadlines:

  • Summer term: July 1
  • Spring term: March 15
  • Fall term: Oct. 15
