The Hope For The Warriors Spouse/Caregiver Scholarship Program recognizes the dedication and resilience of spouses and caregivers of post-9/11 veterans. These individuals take on new, vital roles after their loved ones experience the lasting effects of war.

Since 2006, the program has awarded over 250 scholarships, totaling more than $641,607, to help recipients pursue higher education.

Scholarship Opportunities

The program provides financial assistance for education at accredited universities, colleges, and trade schools. Available scholarships include:

  • Honorary Scholarship – For those pursuing graduate or post-graduate degrees.
  • New Beginnings Scholarship – For those starting with associate degrees or entry-level training.
  • Restoring Family Scholarship – Specifically for spouses of fallen service members.
  • Restoring Hope Scholarship – For individuals pursuing a master's or doctorate in Social Work, Psychology Counseling, or Mental Health Counseling.
  • Restoring Self Scholarship – For those working toward a bachelor’s degree.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must be spouses or caregivers of a post-9/11 service member or veteran who:

  • Sustained a combat-related injury, OR
  • Has a 100% permanent and total VA disability rating, including Individual Unemployability.

A combat-related injury includes those caused by:

  • Armed conflict
  • Hazardous duty
  • Instrumentality of war
  • Simulated war

Scholarship Disbursement

Awards are paid directly to the recipient’s institution to cover tuition, books, and supplies. Scholarships are valid for U.S. colleges and universities only.
