The Harold and Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation has established this scholarship in honor of Brigadier General Albin F. Irzyk.

Irzyk retired from active duty in 1971, with:

  • The Distinguished Service Cross
  • 2 Silver Stars
  • 4 Bronze Stars
  • 2 Purple Hearts
  • The Distinguished Service Medal
  • 3 Legions of Merit awards
  • 11 Air Medals

Note: If you’ve already filled out a Veteran’s Scholarship application, please do not fill out an additional application.  All eligible applicants in the U.S. Veteran category are automatically considered for the General Albin F. Irzyk Veteran Scholarship as well as the $1,000 Veteran Scholarship.

Award Amount

  • $2,000 one-time

Dates

  • Application open: May 1 to August 31 yearly
  • Awardees announced: by November 30 yearly

Criteria

Scholarships are limited to those attending universities accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

This scholarship is be awarded to an outstanding veteran scholarship applicant. The winner will be selected from veteran scholarship finalists by the review committee.

The Irzyk Veteran scholarship is open to all majors and areas of study.
