The John Edelman Scholars Scholarship provides two $10,000 scholarships annually to high-performing student veterans who are pursuing degrees and/or careers in mental health counseling. The hope is that the John Edelman Scholars program will reward achievement while encouraging future study.
Eligibility
Must be a current student veteran (includes members of the National Guard or Reserve) as proven by a DD- 214 and transcript, or a student on Active Duty as proven by submission of Active Duty orders and a Memorandum of Understanding from your commanding officer indicating that you are currently in good standing with your unit and transcript.
Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2023-2024 academic year or intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student at a university in the United States for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Maintaining a strong academic performance.
Pursuing a degree that will result in a career in mental health counseling or related field, including, but not limited to:
- Psychology, any subfield
- Psychiatry
- Social work
- Behavioral health
Will need to submit application along with short essay.
