The Heroes Fund Scholarship is a "gap" scholarship offered by Liberty University that covers tuition and fees remaining after other financial and military aid sources are applied. This scholarship is designed to support the educational goals of service members, Purple Heart recipients, veterans with combat-related disabilities, and spouses of service members killed in action. 

Eligibility

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be a recipient of the Purple Heart
  • Be rated 50-100% disabled by the VA for a combat-related injury, illness, or PTSD
  • Be the spouse of a service member killed in action

Additional Requirements

  • Scholarship applies only to a student's first associate'sbachelor'sor master's degree, or first certificate at that level
  • Applicants must have exhausted Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits.
  • Doctoral degrees and non-degree programs are not eligible.
  • Students cannot use this scholarship for a degree/certificate at the same level as one previously earned.
  • Recipients must agree to the terms outlined in the Recipient Standard Operating Procedure.
