About the Awards

This award honors exceptional young individuals between the ages of 13 and 18 who are part of military families. Recipients represent a branch of the armed forces—Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, or Space Force—and are recognized for their achievements in scholarship, volunteerism, leadership, and extracurricular activities while navigating the unique challenges of military life.

Award Benefits

Winners receive:

  • $10,000
  • Laptop computer
  • Additional donated gifts
  • A trip to Washington, D.C., for the gala (including travel for one parent/guardian)

The gala is held in April, during the Month of the Military Child, to celebrate and support military families.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a legal military dependent, with status verified through DEERS.
  • Be between 13 and 18 years old at the time of nomination.
  • Be available, along with one parent/guardian, to travel to Washington, D.C., in April for the award presentation.
