This scholarship honors LTC Porr's dedicated service as an Army Nurse. It was established by her husband, LTC Loren Porr (retired), and their son, Matthew Porr.
LTC Porr began as a combat medic before earning a nursing degree and working as a civilian nurse. As an Army spouse, she volunteered with the Red Cross and local hospitals. She later earned a BSN, was commissioned as an Army Nurse, and primarily served in the Reserves.
After completing her master’s, she worked as a school nurse in Seoul while continuing her Reserve service. Dedicated to education and service, she also contributed to Army Reserve training, the United Methodist Church, and the University of Southern Maine Nursing Program.
Applications will be disqualified if there is any indication of dishonorable service by the applicant or their ancestor.
Applicants must provide valid proof of Army service, such as a DD214, discharge papers, or a letter from a commanding officer.
