Detail

The Fertitta Veterans MBA Program at NYU Stern provides comprehensive financial and career support to U.S. military veterans pursuing a full-time MBA. Funded by a $15 million endowment from two brothers, the program helps reduce tuition costs, often to levels fully covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program, making a Stern MBA potentially little to no cost for eligible veterans. The program also provides unique networking and career development opportunities for veterans in the program.

The Fertitta Veterans MBA Program has three unique offerings:

1. Fertitta Veterans MBA Scholarship

  • Merit-based award that reduces MBA tuition to $30,000 per year.
  • Open to all active-duty and veteran applicants to the Stern MBA Program.
  • Can be combined with Yellow Ribbon benefits.

2. Yellow Ribbon + Living Stipend

  • Stern contributes up to $32,060 per year, matched by the VA for a total of $64,120 annually.
  • Veterans using Yellow Ribbon (or similar benefits) and not receiving other scholarships may also receive a $20,000 living stipend.

3. Fertitta Summer Program

  • A six-week pre-MBA intensive for admitted veterans, featuring:
    • Two core academic courses (6 credits total): Statistics & Data Analysis, Accounting
    • Career development and leadership workshops
    • Corporate visits and networking with alumni
    • Social and community-building activities
  • Open to all admitted veterans, regardless of scholarship status

Eligibility

  • Must be a U.S. Armed Forces veteran or active-duty service member.
  • Must apply and be admitted to the NYU Stern Full-Time MBA program.
  • Eligibility for the Post-9/11 GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program enhances financial benefits.
