Applicants myst be disabled women veterans with a disability rating of at least 50 percent according to the the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

The AWF Legacy Scholarship Program requires that those who are serving or have served honorably in the Army (active duty, Reserves, or Army National Guard) or be a descendent of an Army woman who has served honorably in any component of the U.S. Army and received a 50 percent or greater disability rating can apply.

The applicant is required to submit a Summary of Benefits Letter provided by the DVA.
