The Ruark-Wight Family Scholarship pays tribute to the service of Cpl Eric Smith Ruark, USMC (3rd Marine Division, WWII, including Iwo Jima) and LTJG Guy Eugene Wight, USNR (WWII and Korea). A single $5,000 scholarship will be awarded.
Eligible applicants must have served honorably or be currently serving in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, or be the spouse or child of a service member.
They must be enrolled full-time in an accredited, non-profit undergraduate or graduate program in the U.S. for the 2025-2026 academic year and hold a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Open to college sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Marines’ Memorial membership is not required.
