SGM Larry L. Strickland Memorial Fund Scholarship

SGM Larry L. Strickland dedicated 30 years to the Army. He was serving as sergeant major to the Army’s deputy chief of staff for personnel when he tragically lost his life in the September 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon.

To honor his legacy, an annual award recognizes two noncommissioned officers who exemplify the Army’s vision, inspire others, and shape future leaders while demonstrating outstanding stewardship of soldiers.

• Recipients receive a bronze eagle and $4,000 for educational expenses not covered by tuition assistance, including instructional fees, lab fees, and books.
• Presented annually at the Sergeant Major of the Army Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier Forum during AUSA’s Annual Meeting.
• AUSA membership is not required to apply.
