Teach Grants provide conditional grant money to students who agree to teach in certain high-need subjects in low-income schools. The grant converts to a Direct Unsubsidized loan for those who do not fulfill the teaching obligation.
Students must complete a TEACH Grant agreement to serve and counseling each year and exit counseling when students are no longer enrolled as half-time students.
Recipients now interact directly with the U.S. Department of Education (ED) for:
Submitting and managing TEACH Grant certification forms, as well as suspension and discharge requests, via StudentAid.gov.
Requesting voluntary grant conversion or reconsideration of loan conversion by calling 1-888-303-7818.
Mailing or faxing suspension, discharge, and reconsideration requests to:
