In memory of Kae Sumner-Einfeldt, Virginia Linquist-Winker, Robert Rader and Carolyn Goldstein – Tall Clubs International Foundation awards annual scholarships to deserving High School Seniors in North America (United States and Canada only). 

The Tall Club International Student Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are under 21 and entering their first year of higher education. Sponsored by the Tall Clubs International Foundation (TCI), this scholarship supports tall students who meet the organization's membership heigh criteria:

Height Requirements:

  • Women must be at least 5'10"
  • Men must be at least 6'2"

Types of Scholarships:

  • Merit Scholarship - Evaluated out of 80 points based on:
    • Activities (20 points): Includes awards, extracurriculars, community service, personal accomplishments, leadership, and work experience.
    • Essay (20 points): Titled "What Being Tall Means to Me" (550-650 words, PDF format only, single page). Missing the title results in a 2-point deduction.
    • Transcript (20 points): Full high school record, including fall semester of 12th grade. Finalists must submit official transcripts.
    • Recommendations (20 points total): Two Required
      • One must be a teacher or school administrator.
      • The second may be from a teacher, coach, or clergy.
      • Each must include a completed rating form and a signed letter on letterhead.
  • Legacy Scholarship - For applicants with a direct relative (parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt/uncle) who is/was a TCI member in good standing for at least 10 years. Same application process as the merit scholarship.

How to Apply:

  • Check the list of local TCI clubs for scholarship availability in your area.
  • If your area does not have a participating club, email tcifoundationscholarships@gmail.com​ for guidance.

Important Dates:

  • January 1: Application opens.
  • March 7: Student application deadline (firm).
  • April 7: Local finalists submitted to TCI Foundation.
  • May 1 (or sooner): Winners notified by sponsoring club.
  • May-June: Scholarship checks sent to colleges.
  • July: Official winners announced at the TCI Convention Awards Banquet.
