The Voice of Democracy Scholarship Program has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program since 1947. High school students (9-12) compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives.
Students compete by writing and recording a 3-5 minute audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?”
Why Should I Enter?
Prizes and scholarships awarded at the following levels:
State winners receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C., to be honored by the VFW and receive their portion of $171,000 in national awards. The top scholarship amount is $35,000.
