The VFW's Sport Clip Help A Hero Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for tuition and fees to help veterans and service members further their education and complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt.
Eligibility:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be currently serving or an honorably discharged veteran.
- Must be ranked E-5 or below at the time of application or at the time of separation.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must be accepted or enrolled in a VA-approved program or school at an accredited post-secondary institution.
Application:
- Fall Semester Deadline: January 1 through April 30
- Spring Semester Deadline: August 1 through November 15
